Section 9: Retired and Discharged


9-1: Discharged Personnel

Dishonorably Discharged members are not permitted to rejoin the unit, this can only be overturned by a new incoming Unit CO/OC, or by a vote from the current Coy HQ.

Honorably Discharged members members can rejoin JHC at any time, the following rules apply:

Under 3 Months - Member will not be required to complete any courses they attained prior, they will however be advised to attend a refresher course.  They will be able to keep their previous rank. (Unless there has been a major change to any course they had attained previously.)  If there is no available slot, they will re-enter at a lower rank.

Over 3 Months(Less than 6) - Member will be required to complete Defence Technical Training and attend a refresher for all Phase 3 courses, less promotion courses.  They will not keep any rank gained prior to discharge, but can be assessed to re-enter at a lower level, if they hold the correct qualifications for the rank they have been assessed. If they had previously passed Elementary Flying School, they will be required to re do their Cross Check in order to recertify for flight operations. Defence Helicopter Flying School and Squadron Specific Courses will be kept unless certain Chapters have undergone significant changes.

Over 6 Months - Member will be required to complete Phase 1, Defence Technical Training and all Phase 3 courses again, less promotion courses.  They will not keep any rank gained prior to discharge. If they had previously passed Elementary Flying School, they will be required to re do their Cross Check in order to recertify for flight operations. Defence Helicopter Flying School and Squadron Specific Courses will also need to be re completed in full.

9-2: Retired Personnel

Retired members can rejoin JHC, at any time, the following rules apply:

Under 3 Months - Member will not be required to complete Phase 1 or any courses they attained prior, they will be advised to attend a refresher course.  (Unless there has been a major change to any course they had attained previously.)  They will be able to keep their previous rank., only if the current Orbat has spaces for them to be placed into. If they had previously passed Elementary Flying School, they will be required to re do their Cross Check in order to recertify for flight operations. Defence Helicopter Flying School and Squadron Specific Courses will be kept unless certain Chapters have undergone significant changes.

Over 3 Months(Less than 6) - Member will be required to complete Phase 1, Defence Technical Training and attend a refresher for all Phase 3 courses, less promotion courses.  They will not keep any rank gained prior to retiring, but can be assessed to re-enter at a lower level, if they hold the correct qualifications for the rank they have been accessed, only if the current Orbat has spaces for them to be placed into, a “position” can not be made just to “Fit them in”. If they had previously passed Elementary Flying School, they will be required to re do their Cross Check in order to recertify for flight operations. Defence Helicopter Flying School and Squadron Specific Courses will be kept unless certain Chapters have undergone significant changes.

Over 6 Months - Member will be required to complete Phase 1 and all Phase 3 courses again, less promotion courses.  They will not keep any rank gained prior to discharge.
