Good book recommendations - M. Sullivan - 21-10-2016 Thought it might be interesting to have a thread for people to recommend good books. My pick would be “Matterhorn†by Karl Marlantes Its a fictional account from the Vietnam conflict, but its written by a veteran who was a platoon leader. The gritty details really pull you in and make you keep turning the pages. Its a great read. Pick up a copy if you see one. Post your top reads below ! RE: Good book recommendations - Capt. J. Nielsen - 21-10-2016 The Rogue Clone series: https://www.goodreads.com/series/59487-rogue-clone Old mans war series and the other books by John Scalzi: https://www.goodreads.com/series/40789-old-man-s-war Nielsen RE: Good book recommendations - C. Kristensen - 21-10-2016 The Temeraire series. I've always been a sucker for dragons, I mean, who isn't. Anyways, Temeraire is a book series about the Napoleonic wars. WITH DRAGONS. It's as fucking awesome as it sounds, an absolutely smashing read. RE: Good book recommendations - R. Flynn - 21-10-2016 Everyone will hate this but the Harry Potter books 1-7 + The recent Cursed child book. Also my little but mighty book of calm for when i want to kill someone.. I'll add a short quote from it below to show what it's like. (Would recommend highly to angry people) "Wear Donald Duck Underpants - Choose a few childlike accoutrements to remind you of the irrelevant, uninhibited, joyous side of life.." RE: Good book recommendations - J. Thomas - 21-10-2016 Erwin Rommel's Infantry Attacks. It's a great book as it more or less demonstrates how he as an officer had to lead some of the most credible German forces during WW1 and how he got the Pour le Mérite. It focuses on command, leadership and people and personal management from a platoon to even a company! RE: Good book recommendations - M. Boon - 21-10-2016 The Eagle Series is a historical military fiction series written by Simon Scarrow. The books follow two officers in the Imperial Roman army - Quintus Licinius Cato and Lucius Cornelius Macro - during the 1st century AD, in the reign of Emperor Claudius. RE: Good book recommendations - E. Vogel - 21-10-2016 [Image: breeolsonplayboy.jpg] A good book about tits and birds RE: Good book recommendations - O. Wheadon - 21-10-2016 Dear Leader An auto-biography by a man named Jang-Jin Sung, he was an officer in the DPRK who became disillusioned with the reigime and finally decided to defect from North Korea after a sensitive piece of information he was in custody of became lost. An interesting insight into an extremely secret society and a truly enthralling read. RE: Good book recommendations - P.
