Section 3: Multi-ArmA 3 Unit Membership Policy
3-1. Overview 3-2. Definitions 3-3. Exceptions 3-4. New Applicants 3-5. Active and Reserve Members 3-6. Retired and Discharged Members 3-1. Overview 4IB does not allow undisclosed multiple ArmA 3 Unit Memberships, commonly known as “Dual-Clanning”. Whilst we are only a gaming unit, 4IB has firm requirements around weekly attendance for all members. We feel that it would be unfair not only to this unit, but to any other unit for a member to have to pick and choose events due to conflicts and not be able to be regularly present on a patrol night. However, if an agreement with clear schedules can be set out between the member and leadership, attendance of more than one unit is supported by 4IB leadership. 3-2. Definitions ArmA 3 Modern Gaming Unit (2000-2030):
3-3. Declaration process 4IB members can seek agreement to allow membership in other ArmA 3 gaming units (as defined above) to leadership and will be reviewed on the basis of the scheduled events the member provides. If a scheduled event in this other unit conflicts with the member’s mandatory operation time, up to an hour before start and an hour after finish (1800-2200 GMT) then they will not be able to get an agreement. Otherwise, this will be reviewed by BGHQ and an outcome agreed. Once agreed, this agreement will be listed onto a member’s P-file for future reference. Concealing membership in another unit is still a punishable offence and would be managed as appropriate under SOP 7.2. Members of 4IB may attend ‘Public Events’ hosted by other ArmA 3 Units or Organisations without the above declaration, as long as they do not interfere with any prior commitments that member has within 4IB or does not place that member on any official roster outside of that of 4IB. However, the member will be expected to uphold the same conduct as they are expected to display within 4IB. 3-4. New Applicants New applicants that wish to join 4IB can be a current and active member of another ArmA 3 Gaming Unit, as outlined in Section 3-2. It is the responsibility of the applicant to identify the dual clanning to the J1 Recruitment Team in introductions, at which point they will raise the declaration with BGHQ as outlined in 3-3. Otherwise, J1 will make every effort to confirm that all Applicants to 4IB are not currently a member of another ArmA 3 Gaming Unit prior to approving their application as part of the Application Process outlined in Section 1-2. If any applicant is found to be concealing their participation in another ArmA 3 Gaming Unit, the applicant will be rejected from 4IB. 3-5. Active and Reserve Members Members wishing to join another unit whilst a member of 4IB will be required to approach their immediate CoC to raise the Dual Clanning declaration request. This should contain; Days and times of the other unit patrol nights Brief overview of the unit and a link to their website/discord Any further commitments that may be pertinent e.g additional commitments outside of main operation nights, other important information etc. This request will be forwarded onto BGHQ for review and the outcome will be listed on the member’s P-file, successful or not. A justification will be provided to the member on outcome from the review. 3-6 Retired and Discharged Members Retired and Discharged members who are no longer actual members of 4IB are free to join other ArmA 3 Gaming Units at their own discretion.
